Lawanda Greene

Lawanda Greene is a remarkable talent and a true basketball standout from the Bronx. Known for her impressive coring ability, she played at Stevenson High School, where she became the all-time leading scorer with an astonishing2,401 points from 1992 to 1995.
 

Her senior year was particularly noteworthy, ass he averaged an incredible 38 points per game, leading her team to the playoffs, although they faced tough competition from the PSAL powerhouse August Martin, losing to them two years consecutively.

Angelo Cruz

Angel Monchito Cruz, born on September 20, 1958, is a celebrated figure in basketball, known for his significant contributions to the sport, particularly in Puerto Rico.

 

Raised in the the South Bronx, he the PS 18 community developed his basketball center. During his high school skills at the Patterson Houses and the PS years, he played for All Hallows and DeWitt Clinton, showcasing his talent on the court
 

As a teenager, Angel was a standout player, leading various City-Wide Tournaments to
championships and breaking barriers  by competing in Harlem Leagues. His dedication and skill made him a 
figure in the local basketball scene.
In adulthood, Cruz became a catalyst for the growth of Puerto Rican basketball during the later through the1990s. Known as a "gentle giant," he was revered for his quickness, finesse, and fearless playstyle, earning him a reputation as a "show stopper." Despite standing at only 5'9", he 
guarded and dunked on much taller opponents, proving that size was no barrier to his talent.

Ron Behagen​

Ron Behagen was born January 19,1951. At 69" he grew up in the South Bronx and plaved point forward for Dewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, earning All-City Honors. One of Ron's mentors was Richard (Skinny) Reed who ironically is being inducted into the BBBHOF tonight
also. Ron received an athletic scholarship from Southern College of ldaho, where he attended his first two vears and then at the University of Minnesota.

 

He made All American Honors at both schools during the early 70's. After his college career, he was drafted in 1973 by the Kentucky Colonels of the American Basketball Association and by the Kansas City Kings the 7th player in the first round
of the 1973 NBA draft, which he chose the NBA to share his talents. Ron received the NBA All Rookie Team Honors in 1974.

Lou D'Almedia

Lou D'Almeida is a remarkable figure in the world of basketball and community service. As the Founder of The New York Gauchos, he has made significant contributions to the lives of
inner-city youth since establishing the program in 1967, under the auspices of the Teamwork Foundation Inc.

 

His personal journey from humble beginnings in Argentina to graduating
from Yale University and becoming a successful real estate tycoon reflects his commitment to education and hard work.

Felipe Lopez

Luis Felipe Lopez, was born December 19,1974 in Santiago, Dominican Republic. His family immigrated to the U.S. specifically the South Bronx when Felipe was 14 years old. Even though he had played some baseball, he quickly fell in love with the NYC game basketball. He attended Alexander Burger JHS before enrolling at the famed
Rice high school. Felipe played and developed his game at the Gaucho AAU program and immediately caught the
attention of many of the nations top programs. North Carolina, Indiana, UCLA and Kentucky were some of the
schools who began recruiting him early in his historic career at Rice HS where he was selected first team All City
for fours years.

Frank Mclaughlin

Frank McLaughlin, grew up in the Woodlawn section of The Bronx and is and Part of Bronx family who has had
8yrs before returning on Bronx to
basketball. Along with his brother Tom, Frank coached at Harvard University for
University and later became the
mater Fordham University. Frank starred on the basketball court at Fordham
University as the school's athletic director. He is a member of the CHSAA Hall of Fame, the Basketball Old Timers Hall
of Fame, the ECAC Hall of Fame, the New England Basketball Hall of Fame, and the
straight home games.

Richard Reed

Richard was born in Eastover, South Carolina and moved to New Needle Trades High School in New York City. His understanding of the importance
education and sports led him to pursue a degree in Physical Education at South Carolina.

Ed Pinckney

Ed Pinckney is a notable figure in basketball, hailing from the Bronx, NY. He grew up in
NYCHA's James Monroe Houses and attended Stevenson High School, where he became a highly recruited player after winning a city championship.

Mary Hayes Has

Mary Hayes Hass is a distinguished athlete from the Kingsbridge section ofThe Bronx. She began her basketball journey at Our Ladyof Angels grammar school andlater played for one of the renowned women's basketball teams at St. Nicholas of Tolentine. Her talent earned her aplace
at Fordham University, where she received the first women's athletic scholarship.
